What’s new in Nullix

Changes you can check, limits stated plainly, and what comes next.

Updated October 12, 2026

October 2026 · version 1.5

Security

  • A new encryption core built on libsignal, with post-quantum key agreement (PQXDH) for new sessions.
  • Sealed sender: the server no longer learns who sent a message between contacts.
  • Message padding, so length gives nothing away.
  • Maximum protection: keys locked with your passcode and the phone’s security chip, with an optional password instead of six digits.
  • Signed app updates.
  • Photos and videos are stripped of location, camera details and dates before sending.
  • Notifications without message text by default.

Privacy

  • Message requests from people you don’t know.
  • Who can message you, call you and add you to groups — enforced by the server.
  • Calls with people you haven’t accepted always go through a relay.

Connection

  • Backup entries with an encrypted tunnel when the direct route is blocked.
  • A signed list of entries, and proxies you can share as links.

Chats

  • Saved Messages, view-once photos and videos, polls and @mentions.
  • Hidden chats, folders and send later.
  • Voice messages as text (iPhone) and translation on the device.
  • A redesigned app for iOS 26, with light and dark themes.

August 2026 · version 1.3

  • Private chats, attachments, voice messages and one-to-one calls.
  • Passcode, biometric lock, active devices and the recovery phrase.
  • A website with a transparent description of the architecture and its limits.

Known limitations

  • Each account lives on one phone for now.
  • Calls on strict networks depend on relay availability.
  • The status page is maintained by hand.

Current focus

  • Reliability first: delivery, session recovery and calls across different networks.
  • Sealed sender for calls and groups.
